Clarence David Gill, Sr. 3/22/1938 - 9/21/2021
Clarence David Gill, Sr., 83, of DeBary, Florida, and formerly of Gilbert, Pa, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Florida. Born March 22, 1938 in Orbisonia, Pa, he was a son of the late Russell David and Fannie (Wilson) Gill. Clarence retired from the Pocono Mountain School District where he worked in the Transportation and Maintenance Departments. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Brodheadsville, Pa and the River City Presbyterian Church in DeBary. He was a life member of the International Harley Owners Group for many years and along with his wife Lorraine, was a member of the Eastern PA Retreads Motorcycle Group. They have been riding motorcycles for at least 60 years together and have traveled to many places by way of motorcycle and by doing so have shared many memories. Clarence was also a life member of the Studebaker Drivers Club. He enjoyed taking his 1962 Studebaker to car shows with his family, where he even won 1st in class with the car. He recently sold his '62 Studebaker to his grandson Jason to keep the love of Studebakers in the family. Clarence loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved cooking and baking then sharing what he made with family and friends. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and always said "On the Road Again". Clarence loved traveling with the Retreads Motorcycle group to the rallies in different states across the United States. He also did a lot of camping with his family. Clarence is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Lorraine Brown, whom he married May 1, 1957 in Maryland. He is also survived by a daughter Carol Gill of Souderton; sons Clarence D. Gill, Jr. of Boyertown, Donald Gill of Gilbert, Pa and Greg Gill and wife Diane of Saylorsburg Pa; grandchildren Laura, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Jason and David; great grandchildren Evelyn, Samuel, Marigold, Kiera and Vincent; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Gill and a sister Marge Gilliand.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2022 at the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Brodheadsville, Pa, with an exact date and time to be determined. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
